Youth Orchestra Levels
Debut Orchestra
Students who have just started learning music on violin, viola, cello or bass. They should be comfortable playing the basic notes on the D and A string and understand how to read music. This ensemble focuses on the basics of playing in a group, having fun and building skills that will be needed in Junior orchestra. WVDO students participate in weekly sectionals, rehearsals, and perform three concerts per season.
Junior Orchestra
Students who have had a minimum of two years of string experience on violin, viola, cello, or bass. This ensemble focuses on introductory level music and ensemble skills. WVJO students participate in weekly sectionals, rehearsals, and perform three concerts per season.
Youth Orchestra
Students who have had a minimum of three years of playing experience on a string, woodwind, brass or percussion instrument. This ensemble focuses on continuing the development of technical, musical and ensemble skills. WVYO students participate in weekly sectionals, rehearsals and perform three concerts per season, including a collaboration with the Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra.
Youth Wind Ensemble
Students who have had a minimum of three years of playing experience on a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument. This ensemble focuses on continuing the development of technical, musical and ensemble skills. WVYW students participate in weekly sectionals, rehearsals and perform three concerts per season, including collaboration with the Wenatchee Valley Youth Orchestra.
