Youth Orchestra Auditions
Auditions 2023-2024
When: September 8 -9
Where: Our auditions will take place at Wenatchee Valley College in the Music and Art Center. The address is 1300 Fifth St and the Music and Art Center is the first building that you come across as you go west on Fifth street. Free parking is available at the Armory building just east of the Music and Arts building.
What: Each instrument has their own audition music for each orchestra. Please see the list below.
How to Sign-up: After you register, Michelle will email you to sign up for an audition time. Registration start August 1st!
Please note: All auditions will be heard by Mika Armaly, our music director, and Michelle Vaughn our violin coach but will not be open to the public.

Audition Materials
Wenatchee Valley Junior Orchestra
Your audition will be around 10 minutes and will include each of the following:
One major or minor scale of your choice in as many octaves as you are able to perform.
Prepare a solo excerpt of your choice up to two minutes. Make sure to choose an excerpt that will demonstrate your most advanced abilities.
Prepare the provided excerpt for your instrument (see links below). Pay special attention to tempo and articulation markings.
Sight reading will be provided at your audition.
