Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra to Perform Swan Lake with the Grand Kyiv Ballet in Seattle Debut
A Historic First: Local Symphony Travels to Seattle to Perform at McCaw Hall
The Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra (WVSO) is thrilled to announce a landmark performance with the internationally acclaimed Grand Kyiv Ballet at McCaw Hall in Seattle on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. This marks the first time in the Symphony’s 77-year history that it will perform outside North Central Washington — a proud and exciting milestone for our organization and our community.
The Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra joins forces with the renowned Grand Kyiv Ballet for a spectacular performance of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, celebrating the ballet’s 150th anniversary. This production marks the grand finale of the Grand Kyiv Ballet’s season and features WVSO’s powerful live sound alongside the stunning artistry of dancers from the Ukrainian National Opera and Ballet Theater. The ballet company dazzled local audiences in Wenatchee in January with Swan Lake, and they will return to the Numerica Performing Arts Center on May 13 to present another timeless Tchaikovsky classic, Sleeping Beauty.
“We are honored to be invited to perform in Seattle and to share this stage with such world-class artists,” says WVSO Music Director and Conductor Nikolas Caoile. “It’s a moment of pride not only for our musicians, but for Wenatchee — showing that our region’s artistic excellence can shine on any stage.”
This collaboration demonstrates the incredible talent rooted in our community, and the far-reaching impact of regional arts organizations. It’s also a powerful reminder of the value of local investment in the arts — making opportunities like this possible through sustained support of live music, youth education, and community outreach.
